The Super Switch Aus S01E15 – Recap

It’s the last episode! So, let’s get a quick recap of who was there and at which house.

Who are the couples in TSS? Here ya go:

Ben and Christie (swapped with Tyler and Olga). Ben and Christie have left, but Tyler and Olga are still in without a switch partner.

Justin and Neesha (swapped with Lachlan and Miranda).

Kendrick and Romina (swapped with Aimee and Marcus).

The beach mansion: Ben, Olga, Justin, Miranda, Kendrick and Aimee. Their therapist is Jacqui Manning.
The city mansion: Neesha, Lachlan, Christie, Tyler, Romina and Marcus. Their therapist is Guy Vicars.

Previously:

Marcus and Aimee have still been having issues at home.

The participants had been home for two weeks, when it came time to meet up with everyone for a dinner party. Ben and Christie turned up as well.

At the party, it got pretty explosive, mostly by and about Olga, who eventually just stands up and leaves.

This is the big boi episode, where the participants decide if they still want to be in a relationship with each other or not, and to reflect on what they learnt in the experiment.

Jacqui Manning and Guy Vicars

When they arrive, one by one, Guy and Jacqui are waiting for them, and greet everyone as they walk in.

First up are Olga and Tyler.

They talk about the whole tickling situation, and Christie calls him out on lying, and saying he pushed her elbow off the pillow wall, but it would have been impossible for her to have slept in a way that her elbow was up there in the first place.

Tyler says they like Ro and Ken, have no problems with Lachlan and Miranda, and like Justin, but swears at the other three.

Neesh says she would have liked some backup from Justin, instead of him being oblivious to it, and he cracks it, saying why should he have to? Miranda says, ‘Because it’s upset Neesha’, and he’s rolling his eyes, swearing, Jacqui’s trying to get him to see what’s going on, and Neesh is getting upset.

Olga said that he didn’t work for the first night, but in the morning when she was making breakfast, he was on the computer again.

Guy gets them to face each other and talk about what decision they’ve made for their future.

Tyler says that he’s worried she’s always gonna be jealous and make things tougher, but he can never let her go.
Olga says that she still thinks that he thinks work is more important. She says she can’t be married to someone who thinks like that, and that it’s hard to think he’ll change. She says it doesn’t feel fair to be engaged to him while he behaves like this, where she does’t feel like a number one priority. She says she is willing to try and she doesn’t want to throw it away, but he needs to put the effort in.

It’s Ben and Christie next. They decide to stay together, and Christie says she wants to move in with him.

Next is Lachlan and Miranda.

Guy tells them he’s worried about violence, or what will be violence, in their relationship.

They decide to stay together.

Ken and Ro are up. Ro wants to stay with him.

Ken starts to talk, and pulls something from his pocket…

A (blurry) engagement ring!

He asks to marry him, and Ro hugs him and accepts.

Naww, what a nice ending.

It’s Justin and Neesha now.

He’s still the worst, and it’s annoying me to listen to.

Justin says he has to work to putting everything he’s learnt into practice, he’s not just gonna change, which annoys Neesh a bit as well.

When it’s decision time, Justin says he wants to work on these issues with Neesha.
She wants to be with him, but needs to see the changes pretty soon.

It’s time for Aimee and Marcus, who had fought since coming back from the experiment.

Aimee says she feels like they both walk on eggshells a bit, and that she shows that she’s committed, but that it’s not enough for him. Aimee says she needs someone strong, because she’s carrying so much responsibility with the kids and him, and she’s worried that he’s not strong enough to support her as well. Nonetheless, she wants to try.

Marcus says he doesn’t want to be a burden, and he wants her to be happy.

Guy and Jacqui wish them all the best and thank them for coming on the journey.

Where are they now?

The Super Switch Aus S01E14 – Recap

Previously:

The participants had just head home to be with their real partners.

Aimee and Marcus had a drama and a half, and after therapy with Guy, mostly talking about how Marcus can’t just leave, Marcus left.

Olga and Tyler started talking about their behaviour, and Tyler lied to Olga about the situation with Christie.

Olga’s worried that Tyler will go back to his old ways.

Tyler starts to talk about the incident with Ben, and says that he said that he dropped the ball on the gift for Christie, and then Ben attacked him, and I’m like that’s literally not what happened? He asked you about the poke and you kinda laughed it off and started to talk before he grabbed you.

Do not like him at all.

Justin and Neesh go out with some friends. Justin goes off with the boys and have a few drinks. He goes, ‘Oh, you can’t really just be like time to go home to my girlfriend. Like it doesn’t really work like that,’ and I’m like … yes? That’s literally how it works? Imo, if you say that to your friends, and they don’t like it or make fun of you or whatever, they’re not good friends.

He reckons if he said he had to be home at 3am because Neesha says then he won’t hear the end of it. … Wow.

Marcus and Aimee are at their favourite restaurant to chat. Aimee’s worried he hasn’t changed enough, and tells him she needs someone strong to support her. She asks how he shows he loves her, and he’s like, ‘Well, I’m here.’

“I can’t do this, I can’t deal with this anymore. I need you to be an adult.”

She gets up and leaves, and he yells after her, “So now it’s okay for you to walk away??”

After being with their partners for two weeks, they head to Melbourne for a group dinner, before the final stage of the experiment.

When they turn up, it’s clear that there are only five spots, so Christie and Ben mustn’t be coming.

Aimee’s worried about turning up because she’s scared she and Marcus have been the only ones fighting since they got back.

One by one, everyone arrives, and everyone’s excited to catch up and see where they’re at with their real relationships.

Tyler says that when he saw Olga again, she said she wants to have kids now, and I’m like wild, after everything that happened, and the continuous, “I’m not gonna marry him”.

Miranda and Lachlan are like yeah things are going really well, and Olga goes, “Well, you keep talking about it like it’s perfect. Why are you here?”

Ugh, they start talking about their relationship and it’s terrible. Miranda is still like, ‘I sometimes get myself into those situations.’

Lachlan uses the word ‘female’, and I’m like, look it’s all well and good to use female in like female toilets, medical form male/female, etc, but when I hear a man talk about a woman and call her, or women in general, a female, I can’t. It just sounds gross. It’s like calling women girls, or talking about a woman and say, ‘she’s a nice girl’, like it’s infantilising, and calling women ‘females’ and ‘girls’ feels disrespectful. Like I didn’t like Lachlan before, but UGH!

Marcus gets up to apologise to Ro and give her a hug.

Then it’s revealed that Olga called Tyler a retard, and he’s like, ‘You said that?’

If you remember, Olga had denied the claims she had talked nasty about him to everyone else.

Then in walks Ben and Christie!

Olga is visibly annoyed, as is Tyler. Everyone stands up to greet them, but Tyler and Olga sit in silence and don’t even acknowledge them.

The first thing Ben does when siting down is to apologise to Tyler, and he says he’s had the time to reflect and he feels really bad, but Tyler doesn’t really acknowledge it.

Christie say tells Tyler not to lie through his teeth, and that he’d lie to make Olga happy.

Olga has a major go at like everyone, then she and Tyler get up and leave, swearing at them as she does.

The Super Switch Aus S01E13 – Recap

Previously:

The girls had their girls night, and Olga went off, and then it came back to Tyler, who took his engagement ring off.
At dinner, Tyler brings up drama and causes a fuss, before calling them all fake and leaves the table.

The couples are all getting ready to head home and be with their partners and chat with other participants about what they’re expecting when they get home.

The couples start to get reunited.

Aimee gives Marcus a key and asks him to move in. He’s very happy to receive it.

They talk about what they learnt, and Marcus says they were quick to pick apart things that she didn’t like, and Aimee says he can’t keep trying to run away or anything.

Neesh talks to Justin about how he woke up Miranda in Port Douglas, and he doesn’t see it as an issue, which worries Neesh.

It’s the juicy one – Olga and Tyler are meeting up.

Olga calls bull on the accusation that she had said mean stuff about him.
She super down plays the party in Port Douglas.

Then, she asks if he shared a bed with Christie. He says yes, but he couldn’t sleep properly, so he moved to sleep on the ground. Olga tells him she never shared the bed.

Olga asks if Christie was right – that he had tickled and poked her, like everyone has said.

“No,” he tells her.
He then says he pushed her arm off the pillow wall, then for like two weeks it was an inside joke that he tickled her elbow. Then all of a sudden people are say she’s uncomfortable, which lead to a whole fiasco of Ben attacking him.

God Tyler’s the worst, what the hell? He has completely changed the story twice now. First he tickled her arm over the pillow wall, then it was tickling her ON the pillow wall, before finally he just pushed it off the pillow wall.

Ugh, whatever. Glad he’s not my partner.

Guy Vicars comes to talk to Marcus and Aimee and tells them they can’t go back on their old habits.
Aimee says if he keeps running away, then that’s that.
Even though Marcus keeps saying he won’t leave again, Guy doesn’t think he’ll necessarily not run away…

After therapy, Marcus says he needs some time, so he leaves???? That really upsets Aimee as well, and she calls him saying it’s making it worse.

It’s an absolute mess. When he comes back, Aimee is still crying and says this isn’t good enough, it’s super bad and she can’t deal with this – she can’t have a life with him if he’s going to do this.

The Super Switch Aus S01E12 – Recap

Previously:

Christie and Ben left the experiment after Ben attacked Tyler.

The boys had a boys night and got to talk about all the dramas and what not that has happened over the last while, including what happened between Tyler and Christie.

It’s the girl’s night tonight and they’re all excited to meet each other and find out what’s going on. Neesh and Ro are intrigued about meeting Olga.

Olga, Miranda and Aimee find out that Christie has gone home as well.

The ladies all sit down and start to talk about what’s going and how everything’s happened.

Olga is going OFF!

Neesh starts to defend Christie and Olga still doesn’t really give a rats, and says she and Tyler are the only ones who are, like, the most committed, and that pisses everyone right off.

OMG she’s annoying me so much. She needs so much more therapy than everyone else.

There are other rumours about Tyler too, he’s gifted the girls kinder surprises, and complimented Neesh as well, which she found unnecessary.

Then Neesh changes the subject, and they start to talk about Marcus.

Olga is still pissy, and when everyone goes to cheers, she sits and stares.

Olga is fuming on the way back to the mansion and just sits in silence, making for an awkward ride home.

When they get home, the boys ask them how it went, and Olga goes off to Miranda.

The next day, after calming down, Olga goes and talks to Miranda to apologise. She gets so volatile when she’s upset and very snap judgement, and then the next morning, she’s so chill and like, ‘Oh, oops.’

Last night, Tyler took his ring off, and this morning, he’s keeping a hold of it, while trying to figure out what’s going on with Olga and why she would be like that.

Tyler gets a letter from Olga talking about how hard it has been, especially with the rumours, and Tyler’s annoyed that Neesh talked about being complimented to Olga.

Olga gets a message from Tyler as well, and he promises to spend more time with her, and she’s so excited and happy. But then he goes, ‘I know about what happened in Port Douglas,’ and she’s like ‘WTF happened in Port Douglas?’ It was her staying up until 5 drinking with the boys. He’s also upset about how she’s talked about him. Olga’s like what have they been saying to him? It’s all lies, etc.

Jeeze louise, is all I have to say on the matter.

Tyler starts drama at dinner, accusing Neesh of lying and for being the worst, and she’s like, nah, that was a rumour in their house, I was saying that I don’t feel uncomfortable, and it’s not a lot, it’s fine. Blah blah blah. What a mess.

Then Marcus, while Ro is talking seriously about Olga, picks up two breadsticks and holds them up behind Romina’s head.

Tyler calls him out, and tells him that that’s what they talked about, inappropriate jokes in serious moments.

Ro calls it very disrespectful, and Marcus goes, ‘Well you’re always disrespectful,’ and she’s like wut? And then Marcus says he talks to him quite disrespectfully, and to Ken, so she’ll still be disrespectful when she goes home.

They start talking about being disrespectful. Tyler brings up that Lachlan called Ro disgusting in her outfit this morning.

After a bit of a drama, Tyler calls everyone fake and leaves the table.

The Super Switch Aus S01E11 – Recap

Who are the switch couples? Here they are.

Ben and Christie (swapped with Tyler and Olga).

Previously:

IDK it feels confusing to me to explain, but the counterparts met. Marcus met up with Kendrick told him about what had happened with Tyler and Christie and how it made her uncomfortable, and Ken went back and told everyone at the beach mansion. Olga was told the same thing by Christie and Olga ended up taking off her engagement ring. Ben and Tyler met up, and Ben started a fight.
Ben’s future in the experiment is in question because he started a fight. Olga calmed down overnight and now says that Christie is lying and she doesn’t want anything to do with Ben if he returns.

Ben returns to the house and gets to see the other participants. I don’t know how long it’s been since the fight tho, they’re not saying…

He gets in to see everyone except Olga there, and they ask him what’s going on and what happened.

Ben says he did it because Tyler started to laugh about it, which honestly is fair. He starts to cry about it, and tells them he will be leaving the experiment because of his actions. He feels bad for letting down Christie and Olga.

As he’s packing, Olga comes in. She tells him she had a panic attack about it, and now she’s blaming Christie for it, saying it wasn’t creepy and it wasn’t Tyler’s fault.

Ben says, “It doesn’t matter if I say it’s a joke, if I tickled you and you were uncomfortable, it doesn’t make it ok.”

YAAS Ben!

Olga is the worst OMG.
Ben shuts her down and apologises for his actions, and bye.

Before Ben leaves, he calls Christie to tell her what’s going on and tell her she can leave if she’d like to.

Christie talks to her mansion, and tells them that she’ll be leaving as well.

Jacqui Manning tells us that even though Christie and Ben are gone, Olga and Tyler can still learn from the other couples to further their relationship.

The two mansions are meeting – boys night and girls night. They’ll get to talk about their experiences, and get to talk about the misunderstandings and the rumours going on.

Christie arrives home to find Ben there with a big bunch of flowers.

They sit down to talk about what happened.

Christie says it was bittersweet for her, the fact he loves her so much he would fight someone for her.

Justin and Kendrick turn up and wait at the bar for the other three to turn up. They get a bit of a strategy, talk about the other boys and what to expect.

Tyler, Marcus and Lachlan arrive, and grab a round. It’s super awkward.

At dinner, they sit down and talk about what had gone on. Marcus says he feels a bit guilty because he’s the first one who got it over to the other mansion.

Ken kicks off against Tyler, saying that if that had been his partner, he’d be furious. Then Justin said that he’d have wanted to rip his throat out.

Tyler goes, “Oh, no, it was that her arm was on the pillow wall and I kinda did a little, ‘Hey get that back on your side’, kind of thing.”
That’s the first time we’ve heard this story before, because Christie said he reached OVER the wall to tickle her elbow, and had poked her a couple of times as well. Never had there been mention of her being over the pillow wall.

Then, what Justin did in Port Douglas comes up, where he turned the light on and left the door open and telling Miranda she can sleep in the bed.
In the other house, the rumour was that he had come in drunk at 4am and told her to get in bed with him, but Ken and Justin were straight up like no that’s not what happened at all.

Lachlan is the worst again. “I’m here to better my relationship, not sleep with another girl.”

The Super Switch Aus S01E10 – Recap

Who’s who in the zoo? Don’t worry, I got you.

Ben and Christie (swapped with Tyler and Olga).

Previously:

Everyone is meeting their real partners experimental partner. And that’s pretty much it! There’s been a little bit of drama, because Ro, Justin and Lachlan are a little bit the worst, but it’s fine I guess…

Christie and Olga meet up today. Olga’s worried and has a lot of questions to ask Christie.

Olga says that Ben’s always had alcohol each day, which really upsets Christie.
Talking about the present, Christie says that Tyler thought the ring was a way to mark her territory.
Christie then says that Tyler has described her as a monster. Olga says it’s because he’s so secretive. He has all her passwords and access to her stuff, but he keeps everything hidden from her.
“I wanna lay it out to you, Tyler basically said to me that Olga said I can share a bad,” Christie tells Olga, before saying that they had put up a pillow wall.
Olga gets so mad and says that he wasn’t supposed to share the bed unless he has to.
Then, Christie tells her about the tickle situation and Olga gets upset about that as well.

“I hate him,” Olga says. “I don’t want to be engaged to someone who thinks it’s okay to do this shit. I want you to tell him I don’t want to marry him. I want to go home.”

Ooft!

Christie is on her way home and she feels guilty about the fact that Tyler lied to her about being able to share a bed.
She gets in and everyone, bar Tyler, is there. She tells them about what happened and everyone’s annoyed that he lied, was so convincing, and so adamant to live by this lie with no remorse.

Olga gets home, and everyone except Ben is there. Straight away, she’s ready to vent about what happened with Christie. She’s so mad, and takes off her engagement ring.

“He can have it once we get home,” she says. “I hope Ben punches Tyler in the face.”

Ben and Tyler meet up. When he walks in, Ben just sits down, doesn’t shake his hand or anything.

It’s time to talk about the tickles, and I’m so excited.
Ben brings it up, knowing that Christie was really uncomfortable by it, and Tyler is really chill in saying what happened. “The other guys tried to use it against us.”

Ben lunges over and starts to fight him. They both throw a few punches, and end up on the ground, being pulled apart. This is the most MAFS drama we will see on this show.

Actually, I have a lot of thoughts on this. Like the MasterChef rants, there’ll be an opinion piece on TSS once I’ve finished the show, and this will be part of it.

Tyler comes back to the house, and tells everyone that Tyler started to attack him.
Christie bursts into tears straight away, saying Ben has never been a confrontational person ever.

Marcus is like, “Mate that tickle thing wasn’t a joke. I know you think it’s funny, but we’d all be so mad if that happened to our partner.”

Everyone’s wondering what happened with Ben and Tyler.

Olga says she thinks Christie is lying about the whole pillow wall thing, even though Ken heard from Marcus about it, but Olga isn’t having it.

Tyler and Christie sit down to talk, and he apologises for what happened the night before. Christie says that it’s not usual behaviour, but is happy in a way that Ben is protective and here for the right reasons.

And Tyler’s the worst.

Christie talks about what happened with Olga, and how mad she is. Then we get a flashback where Olga said they can share a bed if there’s a pillow wall.

Guy comes for a group therapy and tells the group that Ben attache Tyler and will be spending time away from the beach mansion until they figure out what’s going on with his future in the experiment.

Everyone’s shook, but Olga’s like, “I don’t care about Ben at all.”

Jacqui calls an emergency therapy meeting to go over the sitch.

Tyler thinks that Christie is blaming him for the situation, but she’s just kinda defending him. Tyler is like Ben needs to keep away from Olga.

At the end of it all, Christie is starting to see a different side of Tyler. Christie just wants Ben to finish the experiment because it’s about her and him.

The Super Switch Aus S01E09 – Recap

Been a while since my last recap. Got busy with MasterChef, then life in general, and then I got super sick, so today I’m aiming to just smash out the rest of the recaps and be done with that, and then until another show takes my fancy, I might just work on some creative writing for a little bit.

Anyway, we’ve got like maybe six episodes to go before The Super Switch is done! I’ll be writing an opinion piece about the series as a whole once I’ve finished them all up.

Ben and Christie (swapped with Tyler and Olga).

Previously:

The couples bought their real life partners presents. Some of them did a great job, like Ro and Ken who got each other something meaningful with the same quote that’s important to them both, and others really messed it up, like Justin who got Neesh a bottle of perfume that she doesn’t even know.

Tyler reached over and tickled Christie over the pillow wall, and now he sleeps on the floor.

In therapy, Jacqui and Guy are giving the couples some videos from their partners.

In his video, Ben’s like, “I wanna just keep drinking and hanging out with my friends and Christie doesn’t get it,” and Christie is mad af.

Ben watch’s Christie’s video and she’s like, “This is getting too much and he has to calm his farm on this aspect a bit, or I’ll have to move on.” He starts to cry and goes, “I’m disappointed in myself.”

Tyler’s video is him saying he can’t be with someone who doesn’t trust him and who isn’t jealous every time they go out. Olga starts to cry over at as well. “Why do I try?” she asks. “If that’s how he feels, why do I waste my time?”

Justin’s video is him aggressive and swearing saying she smothers him and he keeps pushing her away, and he can’t see a future with her.
Neesh starts to cry and says they’re there because he doesn’t take her feelings into consideration.

Everyone is told they’ll meet their counterparts – their real partners experimental partner.

Lachlan and Justin talk, and honestly these are the two guys I hate. They don’t get along, and Justin’s like, “Who is he to talk to me about my relationship like this?” and I’m like… that’s why you’re literally here???
It’s clear that Lachlan wants to better himself and get something out of this interaction, while Justin’s just the worst.

When Ro and Aimee meet up, Ro is straight up like, “Marcus doesn’t say nice things about you, saying you need to stop farting in bed, and stuff like that.” Aimee is pissed.
Then, Aimee’s saying that she found it a bit hard that Ken didn’t even sleep in the same room as her, and Ro is like, “um the bed is for sex?? I’m not letting someone share a bed with my man.” Um, ok.

When Ken and Marcus met, they talked about how Tyler tickled Christie over the pillow wall. Ken told Ben about what Marcus said.

In the next episode, the rest of the partners will meet, and there will be a throw down…

The Super Switch Aus S01E08 – Recap

Who’s who on TSS? I got you.

Ben and Christie (swapped with Tyler and Olga).

Justin and Neesha (swapped with Lachlan and Miranda).

Kendrick and Romina (swapped with Aimee and Marcus).

The beach mansion: Ben, Olga, Justin, Miranda, Kendrick and Aimee.
The city mansion: Neesha, Lachlan, Christie, Tyler, Romina and Marcus.

The couples are back in their mansions, and it’s already super awkward. Tyler leaned over the pillow wall and gave Christie a bit of a tickle. It made her uncomfortable, so he’s now sleeping on the floor.

The next morning, she’s wearing a sweater made by Ben, that say, ‘Don’t touch these or this’ with arrows pointing to particular places on her front, and a picture of him in the middle with his arms crossed. On the back it says, ‘You can look at this it’s amazing’ with an arrow pointing at her booty, and a picture of him smiling with a thumbs up.

Guy Vicars heads over to see the beach mansion, back from Port Douglas.

Ugh, straight away, Ben is the worst, and goes, ‘These group sessions, it’s always about how the guy is doing something wrong. I’ve never heard anything wrong about Miranda, like it’s always her partner that’s the worst,’ and I’m like it’s because it looks like it’s on the verge of domestic violence, mate.
He goes, ‘She always defends him, then, so why are you here?’

Guy is like, ‘Ok, Miranda, what do you think about this?’ and Justin goes to talk and Guy’s like, ‘Mate, no. Don’t talk for her.’

Then it’s all agree that she needs to open up more.

He gives her $100 to buy their partner a gift.

Olga says that when she looks at her engagement ring, she thinks of Tyler, and she wants to get him something with the same feeling, so she wants to buy him an engagement ring and have it engraved.

Jacqui has gotten her group to do the same thing, getting something they know their partner would love.

Ben decides to buy Christie some lingerie, but doesn’t know her bra size or anything.

Christie decides to buy Ben a juicer because he always goes on about how he wants a juicer.

Tyler wants to get Olga a basket full of her favourite chocolates. He buys a gift basket of chocolate.

It’s making me think about what I would buy my partner…

Ken and Aimee are getting jewellery for their partners and will engrave them.

Ro wants to get Ken a t-shirt designed for him.

Neesh gets a toy sausage dog and wants to engrave a collar so when they get a real puppy, the collar can go on the real dog.

Lachlan goes and gets her perfume, without knowing what she likes, and without putting thought behind it. ‘She’s easy to please, she likes any gifts I get her’… Sure.

The presents arrive, and everyone’s excited to get them. Each couple goes to their own place to open the present. They’ll open it together and reveal it later with the whole group.

Ben is so excited to get a juicer, and Olga’s like um ok? But he loves it!

“What does it mean?” Olga asks.

“That she listens,” he says, saying it’s something he said months ago.

Olga opens hers to reveal the basket of chocolate. She’s happy with just chocolate, like very happy, happier than I expected.

Christie opens her present to find lingerie with a padlock on it so that she can’t use it without him. She likes it, but also it won’t fit her.

Tyler opens the box to see a ring and ‘Will you marry me?’ written in it. He says it’s a wedding ring, and Christie says he’ll have to start planning when he gets back.

Marcus opens his present to find a watch with an engraving on the inside, the tattoo she got on holiday when they were together.

Ro opens hers to find the bracelet from Ken with ‘Love is the key’ engraved on it. She starts to cry and says she loves it.

Ken opens his present to find the shirt with the same message printed on it, and he loves it, so happy to be so in sync.

Aimee opens hers to find a bracelet, and says it’s very sweet. It’s the first piece of jewellery he’s ever bought her.

Miranda’s next, and gets a big white dream catcher and little ducks made of crystal.

Justin says it’s a waste of money to buy presents.

He opens his presents to find the sausage dog slippers and toys. He doesn’t really….

Neesh says if he gets her perfume, it’s not very meaningful. She opens it and it’s perfume. She smells it and doesn’t really like it. She says it feels like an easy way out.

Lachlan opens his to find a little buddha statue. He has buddhas at home, and so he really liked getting it.

Neesh says it’s very thoughtful, but perfume isn’t. She’s gonna finish it then throw it away, like that’s it.

The group go around and say what they got. Everyone’s like, ‘Aw so nice! Perfect!’ and then it gets to Neesh and she starts to cry. Ro starts to talk again, and Neesh is like STFU.

They ask her if it’s her favourite bottle, and she’s like, ‘I’ve never seen this type of bottle in my life. It’s so embarrassing to tell you guys this, it’s a super terrible present.’

The other group do the same thing, and everyone’s really happy, except Justin. He’s like, yeah….

Ben is so excited to whip out his juicer. He feels like Christie loves him more, and Olga is really judgemental.

She pulls out her box of chocolate, and Ben says he felt like it was a bit of a cop out, and like getting socks from your mum. She’s like your girl got you a juicer, like?? And then goes, well we’re engaged so I’m happy with whatever, and they’re all like just because you’re engaged, doesn’t mean it needs to be like you get what you get.

Ben reckons that she’s starting to realise that it’s a bad present.

Ro asks if Tyler and Christie will share a bed now, and he says that no, they’ve already started sleeping on the ground.

Christie brings up that he tickled her elbow over the pillow wall, and now he’s sleeping on the ground.

Lachlan and Neesh get annoyed about it and probe them about the situation.

And then Tyler goes the closeness between Lachlan and Neesh is a lot worse.

The Super Switch Aus S01E07 – Recap

So, it’s been a while since I last recapped the Super Switch (soz). Without further ado, here’s the refresh.

Previously:

The couples are all away on a holiday at the moment in an attempt to strengthen their bonds.

The beach mansion are in the Northern Territory, camping in Darwin. In the last episode, they started to drive from their camping spot to another place for further bonding.
Ro threw shade at Aimee, and Marcus got really upset, so they started to have a heart to heart to clear up the misunderstanding.
Lachlan and Neesh keep crying because their real partner isn’t here.

The city mansion are living the dream in Port Douglas. It’s clear that Kendrick and Aimee haven’t had a lot of time to bond, as he keeps forgetting her name, and Aimee attributes this to the fact he sleeps outside of the bedroom every. single. night. as per Ro’s demands.
Ben is constantly the worst and a bit misogynistic.
Justin drank a lot and ruined Miranda’s sleep, so she’s really salty, but he’s not listening to why she’s mad.

Lovely voice-over lady tells us it’s the last day of being on holiday, and the couples are gonna head home soon.

Marcus confesses that he looked at this like it’d be a holiday, thinking all the problems were on Aimee, however he realised the problems Aimee had with him, the whole mansion have with him, and he’s paying more attention and now here for the right reasons.

Oof Tyler talks to Christie about how Olga doesn’t get along with his dad and step-mum, and misses out on family holidays. He hopes that from the experiment, she’ll realise he’s important enough to compromise and go along to events for his sake.
This is super awkward, because the way she’s been talking about him in the group therapy and what not, she’s realising he’s not treating her well enough and I think they’re on opposite sides of what their truth and discovery is…

He said that she said she doesn’t want them at the wedding and he wants that to change before the wedding.

This is too awkward for me right now.

Something I really enjoy about this show is the couples have to be here for the right reason. There’s no place to hide, and no way to use this as a platform to gain their fifteen minutes. They’re here to improve the relationships, and if they tried to be there for the wrong reasons, the others will call them out on it. It’s a journey for self-realisation and improvement, and with how vulnerable they are with each other, there’s no opportunity to

Neesh and Lachlan go to get some food for a group dinner tonight. They go to a water area, idk, and see Tommy, their outback guide. He has caught them some crabs, and Neesh helps wrap ’em up.

Neesh tells Lachlan about the dramas going on at home, about how her family are really sick, and she cries a bit.

Jacqui Manning comes out to talk with the group about attraction.

Look at her! What a gem.

Lachlan gets asked what attracted him to Miranda and why he’s still attracted to her.

I need to preface this by saying that in Miranda’s group therapy sessions, everyone’s concerned about her because he sounds really controlling, and she keeps defending him. Their relationship expert, Guy, has also expressed strong concern for her.

Lachlan said he’s attracted to strong women because:

‘Because i sort of feel like I can, um, comfort them and fix them.’
Uh… WTF?

The girls are not on that at all, and Christie is like, “Strong women don’t need help and don’t need fixing???? WTF???”

He continues, when he really shouldn’t.

‘Under a strong woman, there’s always vulnerability.’

What isn’t he attracted to at the moment? She doesn’t consider past events and how he’ll react to it.

There’s a quick video of when Lachlan’s like to her, “Stop talking to men,” because she’s “naive”.

Jacqui tries to voice what she’s hearing from him, and he’s like, “Nah, she’s the perfect girl.”

She then goes, ‘Well, no-one’s perfect. She’s human.’

And Christie’s going, in her personal monologue, ‘Why are you here then if you think Miranda is so perfect?’

It’s so frustrating to hear men talk about women like this, and calling a woman naive for interacting with men. I’m so impassioned about it, I’m gonna write a rant, probably.

The subject changes, and Jacqui and Ro talk about sex.

Over at Port Douglas, Ken and Aimee get a couples massage. Aimee says it’s weird because she doesn’t like getting touched, even by Marcus. It’s super boring, and Ken brings up what I’m thinking.

Marcus and Jacqui talk about sex too. He is like, ‘Yeah all the time,’ and Ro and Jacqui are like bull. He’s trying to save face and this is awkward.

Ben and Olga have a picnic, and Ben starts to get his drink on with the champagne. His alocohol intake is a bit much for Christie and Olga is like, ‘yeah, I see that.’

She asks if Christie wanted him to stop with his jokes so much, would he? He’s like, ‘Um she loves me for my jokes?!’

Jacqui gets the couples to write three things down that their real partners could do to make them feel more attractive.

It’s all pretty sad, like Tyler says Olga never calls him good-looking, Ro wants more romance and more effort, Christie wants Ben to cut down on the alcohol… and then Marcus says stop farting in bed.

The camping group do some dancing.

Each couple has a different way of “holding hands”. Ro and Marcus hold hands to dance, Tyler and Christie are doing monkey grip, and Lachlan and Neesh do finger touching.
When they swap partners, the girls keep doing what they had done, and the boys adapt.

Neesh and Lachlan talk about how they’ve bonded and how they can talk about what they need to, and Tyler is like, ‘Olga would kill me for that.’

Tyler says they’re close and intimate, the most in this house. He says they’re opening up so much to each other that it’s like they’re emotionally cheating.

Both Neesh and Lachlan get angry and upset about these “accusations”. Look, honestly, it’s what they deserve after arguing at Tyler and Christie for sharing a bed on like day two.

As usual, I write my recaps as I watch the episode, so there will be spelling and grammar mistakes.

The next Super Switch recap will be up tomorrow, along with a recap for MasterChef. I’m aiming to get the last eight episodes recapped and published every day for the next eight days.

The Super Switch Aus S01E06 – Recap

Here’s a refresh of the couples, because it’s easy to forget their dramas and their real partners.

So in the last episode, Lachlan was having a super hard time camping in Darwin without his girl.

I’m actually annoyed with Ro, because she’s going, ‘Oh, Ken can’t sleep in a bed or bedroom with someone, no,’ but then goes and shares a room and bed with Marcus.

Everyone’s also a bit salty because she implies that while she trusts Ken, Aimee is sleazy and would be more opened to sleeping in the same bed as Ken, and maybe some more 😉 and that really gets Marcus and Tyler angry.
She starts crying because she feels that Marcus has attacked her.

Living the dream is the beach mansion over in Port Douglas. They decide to go to a restaurant.

Aimee and Miranda both admit that they were really upset when they got there and were like, “I should be here with my boy.”

Ken says that he’s not comfy being around emotional people. And then he forgets her name. It’s SUUUPER awkward, and he takes a while to remember it.
Aimee says that he has forgotten her name throughout the whole experiment, which proves they’re not connecting.

Oof, Aimee is in the middle of talking, and Ken cuts her off to order another drink.

I’m so sick of Ben, like he’s an absolute ugh.

‘Some people hate me, some people just have sand in their vagina.’
Ugh.

Then the boys get angry at her for not saying something about what bothers her earlier.
Miranda agrees that she wouldn’t want to say anything because this is the reaction she’s gotten. They try and tell her to tell them to stop with the long jokes and to stand up when things annoy her.
Personally, I want either Jacqui or Guy’s opinion on this (HMU).

Ro leaves for the mo and everyone is throwing wild shade about it and discussing what she said about Aimee, saying it sounded like she was calling her a slut.
Marcus defends it, saying it might just be a language barrier, and if it is, he doesn’t mind.
Ro comes back and is like, ‘What were you guys talking about?’
Marcus tells her, and she’s like, ‘Uh, why? What do you mean?’

Oof, it’s getting really awkward, because she’s going, ‘Oh no, I wasn’t saying she’s a slut or looking for something else. I just think he’s very attractive and she might feel very comfortble around him.’
It’s very uncomfortable, I want to move to Port Douglas.

Thankfully, so does the editing team, so that’s where we’re at.

They’re having a major booze up at home, there’s swimming, there’s dancing, a bit of mooning.

Then, Justin heads home, where Miranda has been asleep for hours on the couch.
He’s super obnoxious drunk and comes in kinda yelling, ‘What are ya doin’ out here?’
She’s like, ‘Sleeping, gtfo.’
He has a full unnecessary conversation with her about why she was on the couch when she would have been more comfy in the bed. He leaves the door open and heads to bed, so she has to get up to close the doors.

Ugh, he’s being the worst in the morning. She comes in to be like, ‘Hey you were the worst last night,’ and he’s like, ‘Um, I don’t deserve this first thing in the morning, like he didn’t disrupt her sleep to discuss their sleeping arrangements.

Miranda’s like, ‘I feel sorry for Neesha if she’s got to put up with this after he’s been drinking. I wouldn’t be with him.’

Guy Vicars turns up in Port Douglas to talk to the couples about how things are going.

Justin talks about waking Miranda up the next morning. Miranda’s like, ‘Yeah it was really annoying,’ and Justin’s like, ‘Ugh.’
Guy’s going, ‘Isn’t this what annoys Neesha?’ and Justin’s like, ‘Ugh.’

The couples are on their way to a national park, and they’re driving in their own cars.

Marcus dreads talking to Ro in the car. Ro brings it up and starts to talk to him about the sitch and what she meant.

Meanwhile, they’re driving in like mud, and water, etc.

Christie goes, “It’s great to be in the serenity” and all I can think is The Castle.

Justin takes Miranda on a cruise to try and clear the air. He tells her that he doesn’t think he needs to apologise, and Miranda’s like, ‘Um, you were a dick. Is this how you treat Neesh?’ and he’s like, ‘???’

It’s super awkward, and he needs to just stfu, like he’s not listening and doesn’t understand what she’s talking to her about.
